A Simple Formula That Changes Everything

Prayer doesn’t have to be complicated or mysterious. This simple six-letter acronym will revolutionize how you approach God and see supernatural results in your prayer life.

P - PRAISE: Start with Worship

Why Begin with Praise?

  • Psalm 100:4 - “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise”
  • Praise shifts your focus from problems to God’s power
  • Worship prepares your heart to receive from heaven

How to Praise Effectively:

  • Declare who God is (His attributes)
  • Thank Him for what He’s done
  • Acknowledge His goodness and faithfulness
  • Use Scripture to fuel your praise

R - REPENT: Clear the Communication Lines

The Power of Clean Hands:

  • Psalm 66:18 - “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear”
  • 1 John 1:9 - “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive”

Quick Heart Check:

  • Any unforgiveness harbored?
  • Areas of disobedience to address?
  • Pride that needs to be surrendered?
  • Repentance opens heaven’s ears to your prayers

A - ASK: Make Your Requests Known

Bold Asking:

  • Philippians 4:6 - “Let your requests be made known unto God”
  • Matthew 7:7 - “Ask, and it shall be given you”
  • John 16:24 - “Ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full”

Keys to Effective Asking:

  • Be specific in your requests
  • Ask according to God’s will (His word)
  • Ask in faith, expecting answers
  • Ask for others, not just yourself

Y - YIELD: Surrender Your Will

The Heart of Submission:

  • Matthew 6:10 - “Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven”
  • Luke 22:42 - “Nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done”

True Yielding Means:

  • Trusting God’s timing
  • Accepting His methods
  • Believing His heart is good
  • Letting go of how you think it should happen

E - EXPECT: Believe for Results

Faith-Filled Expectation:

  • Mark 11:24 - “Believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them”
  • Hebrews 11:6 - “He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him”

Expectant Faith:

  • Look for God’s answers
  • Thank Him in advance
  • Stay alert to His moving
  • Don’t give up when delays come

R - RECEIVE: Accept God’s Answer

Three Possible Answers:

  1. YES - God grants your request
  2. NO - God has something better
  3. WAIT - God’s timing is perfect

How to Receive:

  • Accept His answer with thanksgiving
  • Trust His wisdom over your understanding
  • Keep your heart open to His leading
  • Celebrate every answer as evidence of His love
